Interview

What is your go to rig?

Chris: Very basic hair rig for clear bottom lakes, and the naked chod for weedy waters, I believe in keeping it super simple!

Jay: A solid bag or a ronnie rig depending on the lake.

Favourite carp you've ever caught?
Chris: I can't choose a single fish as this changes all the time, my 33lb 10oz carp caught in 2011 is still my pb and was pretty special! But my favourite is always the next one!
Jay: For me, it is a Common Carp caught in France, just under 40lb, but caught while my family were there and we got an awesome photo. After that probably my 24lb2oz common carp from Redmire Pool in a winter session.
Best Bank side grub?
Chris: if you're lucky enough to be fishing near and independent pizza shop take away/delivery service, it's a large Hawaiian pizza every time! 3000 calories of farting fuel for the night ahead!
Jay: I try to eat healthy on the bank, but... you can't beat a good social BBQ and a couple of beers!
Favourite other YouTube carp blog?
Chris: The blog that really inspired BOTLN was called '2 blokes go fishing'. I loved this at the time! Nowadays there are some incredible blogs being shot by amateurs, but my favourites are watching the guys and girls that have become friends and started when we did and are still going. Nuffinbutfishing, Dan Jones, Carl and Alex.
Jay: I rarely get time to watch YouTube and tend to only watch whatever lake or venue I am researching,  but I'll agree with Chris and add the Carp King Chris Fennel to that list too.
Best piece of fishing advice received?
Chris: Don't forget the margins! (You bas****s!)
Jay: Take a spare pair of pants!
